Charline was beyond lost, she was completely disorientated. Sighing in exasperation she flopped down on a step and began to sob. This trip was more tiresome and bewildering than she had expected it to be. She hated being in the city, what happened to all those lovely tales she had read in the books at home? Where there any fairy tale like experiences in life?

Gerald paused contemplating his next move, this girl had walked around nearly half the city, and now here she was crying. Mustering up a some courage, and a half thought out plan, Gerald moved forward speaking in as non-startling a manner as possible. "Hey, are you alright? I saw you were crying, and I just wondered if there was anything I could do to help you?"

Charline looked up, startled for all of Gerald's precautions. "Who are you? I... wait, didn't I just see you back at the runway show? Are you following me?" Charline questioned. Gerald grinned, "My name is Gerald, I'm sorry I wasn't more amiable back at the show, I just thought I recognized you from the show and thought I should say something... maybe to make up for my rude behavior back there," he lied smoothly.

Smiling for the first time that night, Charline stood up and moved towards him. "You see," she began, "I'm actually entirely bewildered, I have no idea how to get back to my hotel. It's late and I just feel like this night has been a complete drag."

Taking her arm gently, Gerald tried to reassure her, "If you're willing to trust me I'm sure I'll be able to lead you back to your place. Mind telling me the name of the place you're headed?"

Charline responded, "after all this trouble, I would be happy for someone to show me the way. It's Le Casa Blanca."

"Nice place," Gerald replied as he turned around leading Charline by the arm. Glancing sideways at her, he remarked, "have you ever encountered london dating, or ever heard anything about london dating?"

With a confused look Charline responded that she hadn't... "What do you mean by 'london dating?" she questioned.

"Oh, nothing, I just have heard the term a couple of times, and wondered if you had," he responded.

They continued there walk for awhile, neither speaking. Charline was too tired to talk, and Gerald resolved to take the time to develop his plan.

Within twenty minutes the two had reached the hotel. Charline slipped out from his grasp and began to walk up the stairs, thanking him graciously for his help. Gerald followed closely behind insisting that he make sure she found the right room, "as she was prone to getting lost," he laughed.

Charline wasn't able to stop him so she resigned herself to keeping enough distance between them as she could without seeming rude. Upon arrival at her room she opened the door, and before she could understand what happened she was pushed into the room, Gerald closing the door behind him. "I'm going to try to explain what london dating is," he said, "but I think it would be more effective to just explain my feelings... it will all make sense in time. I know we've only had a brief encounter, but I think this is true love. I've never seen anyone so beautiful... and I can't think of anyone who I would want to spend the rest of tonight with, and maybe forever." As he spoke he slowly walked towards Charline, keeping himself between her and the door forcing her to move towards the bedroom.
